Toscana IGT Gigino Grande 2015 Barbanera

Gigino Grande is the blend of Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot grapes made by the Barbanera company in memory of Luigi Barbanera.

With the harvest finished towards the first week of October, the selected grapes are fermented considering a light drying of 20 days for the Sangiovese variety. The cold pre-fermentation maceration is carried out to extract perfumes and aromas with subsequent fermentation at 25 ° C. A year of aging in French and American oak barrels follows.

With a deep and very intense amaranth red color, it releases black cherry and black currant, white pepper and sweet vanilla notes on the nose. Elegance and harmony on the palate reveal elegant and silky tannins, fruit freshness with the return of bitter chocolate and coffee bean. The finish is long and persistent.

Excellent with mushroom-based dishes such as risotto and escalopes, game and stewed meat.
